This is an exciting phase for many of you!  Working hard towards the completion of your studies and preparing yourselves to take that leap into a world of opportunity. 
 
Take some time, sit back and listen to the stories of four young adult HR professionals as they embark on their own HR journey.  Join us as they share where they are at right now with fantastic insights, tips and feedback which could be of great relevance to you right now. 

We will also be joined by a senior lecturer of the University of Auckland, Deepika Jindal, sharing words of wisdom around wellbeing tips and strategies so as to capitalise on those opportunities ahead for you all; preparing to be your best selves.

Presenter Details

Emma Catto
Emma Catto

Emma Catto is a Workforce Consulting Associate at PwC up in Tāmaki Makaurau and has a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology, Bachelor of Commerce in Human Resource Management and Management and recently completed her Master of Commerce researching Green Training and Development from the University of Canterbury. Prior to working at PwC, Emma worked as an HR Administrator at Venues Ōtautahi throughout her education, and is a Commissioned Officer in the New Zealand Cadet Forces. Working in consulting has allowed Emma to expand her experience in various components of workforce strategy and organisation development. PwC has also allowed Emma to continue developing her skills and share her experience within training and development as a L&D champion. Emma has also had various opportunities to engage with industry professionals across the Asia Pacific region in the ESG space and she is looking forward to continuing her career development, particularly in building the connection between people and sustainability within organisations.

Adrian Cenon
Adrian Cenon

Adrian Cenon completed his Master of Management degree at the University of Auckland in 2020. He is now a Curriculum Development Adviser at the University of Auckland Business School, where he supports the execution of strategic learning and teaching initiatives and organises seminars and events for staff to build a culture of innovation and collaboration. Before moving to Auckland, he had stints in Singapore as an Organisational Development Adviser for a consulting firm and in the Philippines as a Training and Research Officer for a leading property developer. Throughout his career, Adrian has consistently sought opportunities to develop his capabilities through various job-related tasks and regular self-reflection. He also values the importance of engaging in meaningful conversations with mentors to fuel his growth and support in decision-making.

Adriana Vickers
Adriana Vickers

Adriana Vickers graduated from Massey University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Business Majoring in Human Resource Management, Employment Relations and Management. Adriana currently works as a Senior HR Administrator and Advisor for Chemist Warehouse New Zealand. Looking after over 2000 employees, Adriana loves how no two days are the same in her role, some days she's out at sites dealing with advisory matters, other days training managers on HR processes, or making contracts for new employees. Adriana feels her HR degree set her up well for the role she is in today. Her degree helped her develop leadership skills, critical thinking and communication skills to communicate and lead a diverse range of people. Adriana is excited to see where her career takes her, especially at Chemist Warehouse, as they rapidly grow and expand.

Dr Deepika Jindal
Dr Deepika Jindal

Dr Deepika Jindal is a Professional Teaching Fellow at the University of Auckland and teaches Human Resource Management and related courses. Deepika’s research interests lie in job crafting. Outside her role at the University, Deepika is Branch President of HRNZ Academic Branch and an Auckland Branch committee member. Prior to joining academia, she worked in an Indian manufacturing conglomerate, for over a decade, in their Corporate HR department.

Lulu Cai
Lulu Cai

Lulu is a highly motivated Talent Acquisition specialist with experience in full cycle recruiting and employee engagement. Detail-oriented with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively and efficiently. Comfortable and confident in fast-paced work environments. Solid knowledge in ATS platforms, Google Workspace and Microsoft Office. Excellent intercultural sensitivity, fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. Lulu is currently Talent Acquisition Coordinator at Fisher & Paykel Appliances.
